Job Title: Electronic Warfare (EW) Engineer Location: Warton Salary: £54,793+ depending on skills and experience As our ideal candidate, I want you to have the following essential skills and experiences: - Experience working with Electronic Warfare (EW) and/or Defensive Aids Systems (DASS) and/or Radio Frequency (RF) systems. - Experience leading and managing engineering teams. Additionally, here are some desirable skills that would be beneficial: - A degree in a STEM subject or equivalent relevant experience. - Systems engineering and engineering lifecycle experience. - Knowledge of systems engineering methods and tools (e.g., UML/SysML, MoDAF, MOOD, Matlab). - Experience developing mission systems with associated domain knowledge. - Ability to work in a changing and evolving environment. - An innovative approach to problem-solving. - Capability to work in a multi-partner/multi-national environment. - Holding a UK driving licence (or working towards obtaining one).

Responsibilities

As a technical expert, you will have the opportunity to develop the next generation of Electronic Warfare (EW) systems across the engineering lifecycle, from requirements through to design, development, and implementation. Your main responsibilities will involve: - Developing EW concepts that meet customer needs for the Future Combat Air System (FCAS) and Global Combat Air Programme (GCAP) in collaboration with international partners (Japan & Italy). - Acting as the primary Mission Systems point of contact for EW Systems within the FCAS/GCAP Programme, providing oversight and technical leadership to supplier activities in this domain. - Liaising with international Ministries of Defence to advise on the development of EW requirements. - Executing plans to deliver and overseeing/reviewing performance assessments of EW systems to support programme gate reviews, Systems Requirements Review (SRR), and Systems Functional Review (SFR). - Providing technical oversight for the development of the EW requirements set being modeled in an Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) toolset. - Planning and delivering supplier activities to develop EW systems through to Preliminary Design Review (PDR) and Critical Design Review (CDR) maturity. - Designing and developing EW systems along with associated areas, including Mission Data, Through Life Support, Safety-Airworthiness, Security, RF Interoperation, Electro-Magnetic Engineering, and Testing. - Planning and implementing EW System Integration, simulation, synthetics, and testing.
