Requirements
Must:
We are seeking qualified candidates who have:
* Knowledge of the Typhoon platform.
* Understanding of qualification and certification processes.
* Capability to work within agreed standards and procedures while appreciating the importance of configuration control.
Desirable qualifications include:
* A degree in a STEM subject or equivalent relevant experience/qualifications.
* Experience with the JIRA Agile project management tool.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for:
* Generating clearance documentation (i.e., SQS/NCQC/ADOM).
* Assessing whether certification evidence supports the clearance and determining the impact of any shortfalls.
* Presenting certification to SDR for formal sign-off.
* Identifying and tracking clearance dependencies, collaborating with AJT and AVS Sub System teams to plan and gather inputs.
* Working with external assessor stakeholders (i.e., Qual & Cert / Airworthiness) to secure independent assessment and approval of AJT clearances.
* Tracking and managing clearance baselines across complex product sets.
* Assessing the traceability of clearance evidence and supporting clearance programme reviews as required.
Description
This position is for an Avionic Systems Engineer (clearance, qualification, and certification) based in Warton. We offer a competitive salary starting at £47,683 or more, depending on skills and experience, along with a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements. As part of the AJT Systems Engineering Team in the wider Typhoon Avionics Systems function, you'll work within a multi-discipline team supporting both current and future projects for the Eurofighter Typhoon. You'll be integral in delivering the qualification and certification of strategic avionic products, particularly as you support the clearance team in qualifying Typhoon avionic design changes, engaging closely with safety, system problem reports, and test requirement teams. As a senior engineer, you will operate with autonomy and contribute to the team's responsibilities, mentoring junior members and exploring opportunities for advancement within the avionics team.
