Requirements
Must:
- Experience with C / C++ programming
- Proficiency in Python
- Basic knowledge of C# and SQL
- Familiarity with device communication protocols (SSH, Telnet)
- Experience with hardware integration and physical systems
- Background in industrial or manufacturing systems is a plus
- Experience in test equipment or production environments is desirable
- Understanding of automation or hardware-integrated software projects
Responsibilities
- Write software that controls and communicates with real devices
- Integrate applications with test rigs and equipment
- Work with USB and network device communication
- Support migration of legacy test platforms onto newer hardware
- Interface with single-board computers and device-level protocols
Description
We are a global engineering business located in Glenrothes, specializing in the design and build of automated test systems for devices. This role offers a competitive salary of up to £45,000 on a 12-month fixed-term contract, with a strong chance of permanence. Our hands-on engineering team focuses on developing software that interacts directly with physical hardware. You will have immediate ownership of platform migration work, and you will work in a small team where your contributions have a direct impact.
