Requirements
Must:
We are looking for a candidate with a technical degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a similar field, although it is preferred. You should have mid-level development experience and a strong interest in engineering-based software, as this role is not focused on web or database development. Due to our rural location, you must have access to your own vehicle.
Responsibilities
You will join our small agile team, where you'll be involved in developing desktop applications using C# .NET. Your focus will be on both front-end and back-end development for Windows applications. Initially, you'll work from our office for the first two weeks, then transition to a hybrid model that requires office visits every fortnight.

We are a leading engineering company in the control systems sector, seeking a .NET Desktop Developer to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on next-generation products that solve complex technical challenges, integrating software with physical hardware systems. Our business develops control electronics and software that are used in structural testing applications. Key skills for this role include C# .NET for Windows Desktop development, familiarity with WPF and MVVM methodology (WinForms experience also considered), a solid understanding of software design principles (such as SOLID), multithreaded development, Visual Studio, Git, and unit testing (NUnit). Experience in Agile/Scrum environments, as well as any background in hardware communication (Ethernet), is a plus.
We offer a competitive salary of up to £45,000, 23 days of holiday plus bank holidays (increasing with service), private healthcare, life insurance (3x salary), and a pension scheme. There may also be occasional international travel. This is a great opportunity for software developers who enjoy technical challenges and want to work closely with hardware in a specialist industry.
