Must:
I am looking for a candidate with a strong background in Java development, specifically with experience in Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate, and REST. You should have experience in engineering management or technical leadership, along with knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure. Familiarity with DevOps practices, including CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, and infrastructure-as-code, is essential. Additionally, you should have experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or Splunk and possess strong incident management skills along with an operational mindset. Excellent communication skills for both internal leadership and client-facing situations are a must.
Responsibilities
In this role, I will expect you to lead and mentor a high-performing engineering team. You will oversee agile delivery, manage the backlog, and plan releases. Ensuring platform stability through monitoring, incident management, and post-mortems will be a key responsibility. You will also need to implement robust security and compliance practices, manage vendor relationships, and handle operational budgets. Supporting client onboarding and resolving platform-related issues will be an important aspect of your duties.

This position is for an Engineering Manager at our leading, award-winning FinTech company, which provides cutting-edge financial technology solutions to global financial institutions. We have been recognized for excellence and innovation within the sector. This role will require you to be in the office 4 days per week, and our team consists of around 3 developers, 1 tester, and 8 front office personnel. The salary for this position is up to £90,000. The interview process includes an initial interview with the Head of Engineering, a technical and practical test, a meeting with the CTO/Chairman of the Tech Committee, and a final stage interview with the CEO.
