Requirements
Must:
- 10–15+ years in data architecture, data platforms, or cloud-native data engineering within financial services or capital markets.
- Strong experience with AWS S3, Glue, IAM.
- Proficient in Parquet, Iceberg, Delta/columnar formats.
- Experience with Snowflake, Databricks, or other cloud analytics platforms.
- Expertise in data lineage, metadata, governance models, and platform security.
- Proven experience advising technical teams, reviewing designs, and providing architectural recommendations.
- Familiarity with data vendor onboarding processes (Bloomberg, Refinitiv, Snowflake Marketplace) is a plus.
- Experience in systematic trading, hedge funds, quant research, or time-series market data platforms is beneficial.
Responsibilities
- Review and assess technology decisions made by engineering and research teams, ensuring alignment with the target-state architecture.
- Recommend best-fit technologies (AWS S3, Parquet, Iceberg, Snowflake, Databricks, lineage tools) based on performance, scale, cost, and business needs.
- Validate architectural patterns for ingestion, historical data management, time-series storage, and firm-wide data platform expansion.
