Requirements
Must:
We are looking for candidates with:
- Strong Linux administration skills (RedHat / CentOS / Rocky) - essential.
- Knowledge of Java - advantageous.
- Experience with databases (MySQL / SQL Server).
- Familiarity with VMware / Proxmox - beneficial.
- Knowledge of automation and containerization tools such as Ansible, Docker, Jenkins, SVN, Terraform - advantageous.
- Scripting experience with Bash or Python - beneficial.
- Excellent communication skills and confidence in customer-facing situations.
- A proactive, well-organised, and team-oriented approach.
- Full UK driving licence - desirable.
- Eligibility to obtain UK Government Security Clearance (a pre-requisite for the role).
Responsibilities
As an Application Support Engineer, you will:
- Maintain and support bespoke software applications.
- Manage and improve build and release processes.
- Keep infrastructure patched, secure, and up to date.
- Release and patch software in a timely and controlled manner.
- Liaise directly with customers to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
- Collaborate with developers and technical teams to find and implement solutions.
- Travel across the UK when required.
