Requirements
Must:
We are looking for someone with a strong background in software engineering (Java, C#, or similar) who has progressed into architecture. You should have extensive experience in pre-sales solution architecture within a consultancy environment, with proven ownership of full bid lifecycles on deals worth £5 million or more. A broad application architecture expertise across multiple technology stacks and strong cloud experience (preferably in Azure, AWS, or GCP) is essential. You need to be commercially aware, able to engage confidently with senior stakeholders and shape solutions under pressure. Strong communication skills are a must, as we need someone who can command a room and win the trust of both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Experience with AI in the software development lifecycle, including intelligent automation, AI-assisted coding, or test automation, is a strong plus.
Responsibilities
In the role of Pre-Sales Solution Architect, you will be the key technical lead in high-value sales cycles, shaping solutions and owning the architecture workstream. You'll drive compelling propositions for large-scale application services opportunities and collaborate closely with sales, business development, and delivery leaders to scope, define, and propose impactful solutions for our clients. Day to day, you'll lead pre-sales solutioning on major application modernisation programmes, translating client requirements into commercially viable and technically robust proposals. You will act as the bridge between sales, clients, and delivery, ensuring clarity, credibility, and confidence at every stage. Additionally, you will drive conversations around AI-enabled engineering, showcasing how GenAI and automation can improve the software development lifecycle, and own and evolve propositions for application modernisation and augmented engineering within the UK&I market.
