Must:
We are looking for a Network Engineer with a proven background in Network Architecture and Design (HLD/LLD). You should have experience working in secure or defense-related environments, along with proficiency in Cisco Networking (Routing/Switching) and Data Centre Networking. Hands-on experience with Cisco ACI, Palo Alto / Cisco Firewalls, Authentication 802.1x, Cisco ISE, Active Directory, and Load Balancing with Citrix Netscaler is essential. Additionally, candidates must hold current SC Clearance prior to starting.
Responsibilities
In this exciting role, I will need you to contribute to High-Level Design (HLD) documentation and produce detailed Low-Level Designs (LLD). You will be responsible for configuring and implementing a range of core infrastructure components, including data center fabrics, access and distribution switches, routers, WAN, firewalls, load balancers, Wi-Fi controllers, and authentication servers. I expect you to perform impact assessments for complex or large-scale network environments and execute testing and analysis in line with predetermined test plans. Furthermore, you will conduct network site surveys, reviewing cabling, power, and rack space (including photographic evidence), install and test SDA switches and associated equipment during out-of-hours windows, and support the decommissioning and removal of legacy network components.
Description
This position is based in Barrow-in-Furness and involves on-site attendance five days per week. You will participate in a rotational out-of-hours shift pattern, which typically consists of two weeks of 16:30-23:30 shifts followed by two weeks of standard daytime hours (7.5 hours per day). We offer a competitive rate of £500 - £530 per day (Inside IR35), and the assignment runs until 31st December 2025, with the possibility of extension.
