Must:
We are looking for a candidate with strong experience in installing, maintaining, and upgrading IBM DB2 and related tools (DB2 CA, DB2 Connect, Data Studio). You should have solid knowledge of TSO, JCL, REXX, SQL, and core mainframe operating system tools, along with several years of hands-on DB2 systems programming experience. A strong understanding of performance tuning and monitoring is essential.
Additionally, experience with DevOps tooling (VS Code, Db2 Developer Extensions) and exposure to z/OSMF is highly valued. Familiarity with Broadcom and IBM Db2 tools, as well as knowledge of Db2 internals and RACF security, will be advantageous.
Responsibilities
As a Mainframe DB2 System Specialist, you'll be responsible for building, maintaining, and optimizing enterprise-grade infrastructure platforms. You will select and implement technologies that maximize performance and efficiency. Monitoring infrastructure performance and proactively identifying issues will be part of your daily tasks, using data-driven approaches to reduce Mean Time to Recovery (MTTR) and improve reliability.
You will also automate repetitive tasks to reduce manual effort and apply scripting and coding practices to drive operational efficiency. It's critical to implement secure configurations and protect systems from vulnerabilities to ensure hardware, software, and data environments operate securely. Collaboration with engineers, architects, and product teams is essential to align infrastructure decisions with wider business objectives.
