Must:
- Proven expertise in complex systems architecture and practical MBSE experience.
- Knowledge of architectural principles in a product line environment is desirable.
- Proficiency in Rhapsody & SysML, and IBM Engineering Workflow Management (essential); experience with DOORS Next Generation is advantageous.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to coordinate and influence across teams.
- Experience leading small to medium work packages autonomously and tackling highly complex challenges.
Responsibilities
- Lead the creation and maintenance of architectural artefacts for the Mission Planning & Control product line.
- Guide and mentor other architects, influencing the overall design and delivery approach.
- Apply MBSE practices to complex system architectures and ensure alignment with product line principles.
- Collaborate with multi-skilled teams to deliver solutions on time, on cost, and to quality standards.
Description
We are a leading defence technology organisation seeking a Lead System Architect to join our Mission Planning & Control team for a critical FC/ASW weapon system. This role, based in either Bristol or Stevenage, UK, offers an exciting opportunity to shape architectural artefacts across multiple product offerings and lead the development of highly complex systems that operate across UK and international platforms. We offer a competitive salary of £60,000 - £72,000, a bonus of up to 21% of base salary, pension contributions up to 14%, flexible working arrangements, and enhanced parental leave (up to 26 weeks), along with excellent site facilities including subsidised meals, free parking, and a healthcare cash plan.
