Requirements
Must:
- Experience with Power Apps, low-code/no-code platforms, or application development
- Proficiency in reading and editing existing code, as well as building applications from scratch
- Familiarity with SAP, SQL, Oracle, or similar enterprise systems
- Knowledge of Microsoft Power Automate
- Understanding of SharePoint and Dataverse to support existing applications, including experience with SharePoint Lists and permissions
- High level of computer literacy and confidence in working with new technical systems
- Ability to manipulate, analyze, and present data clearly; Power BI experience is a plus
- Strong communication skills with adaptability to user needs
- Ability to think critically, challenge the status quo, and identify improvement opportunities
- Understanding of Health & Safety considerations in digital and operational environments
- Experience implementing change through technology
- Knowledge or experience in creating relational databases
- Strong Excel skills
- Understanding of JSON
Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and deploy Power Apps and internal applications to enhance efficiency and support operational teams
- Design robust back-end architecture for data storage and ensure reliable integrations with existing business systems
- Maintain back-end data architecture using SQL/Oracle to ensure synchronization with SAP and other enterprise systems
- Update and manage the internal site asset data repository, ensuring accurate integration with SAP and Health & Safety systems
- Troubleshoot, maintain, and update existing business applications, delivering necessary fixes and enhancements
- Create dashboards to visualize operational data and support decision-making
- Engage with stakeholders to gather requirements and understand user needs while supporting the rollout of applications
- Ensure compliance of all applications with data governance, cybersecurity, and GDPR requirements
Description
We are looking for a Junior Applications Engineer to develop, maintain, and enhance internal digital applications that support Anglian Waters operational, safety, and asset management processes. You will work with Power Apps, SAP-integrated tools, and SQL/Oracle environments to build intuitive, reliable solutions that streamline workflows and improve data quality across our business. This role offers a salary of circa £30,000 depending on skills and experience, with a flexible full-time working schedule in Peterborough.
