Requirements
Must:
- Extensive hands-on experience managing cost-efficient Azure infrastructure.
- Familiarity with AWS platforms is a plus.
- Proven ability to model and manage accurate cloud financial forecasts.
- Track record of working across insourced/outsourced teams across diverse geographies.
- Previous experience in FinOps roles with a deep understanding of cost optimisation strategies.
- Azure certifications (e.g., AZ-104); Power BI credentials are advantageous.
- Experience deploying and managing Azure Policy for cost control and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Track and analyse Azure cloud usage and spending data to uncover cost-saving opportunities.
- Design and implement cost optimisation initiatives such as right-sizing, resource tagging, and decommissioning unused assets.
- Collaborate with finance, operations, and technology teams to foster financial responsibility and transparency.
- Manage cloud governance and FinOps tools to improve cost visibility and control.
- Produce accurate cost projections and align cloud spend with financial planning.
- Identify and respond to cost anomalies to prevent unexpected budget spikes.
- Prepare clear and comprehensive reports on cloud financial performance and optimisation measures.
- Advocate best practices across development teams on cost awareness and optimisation techniques.
- Apply and manage Azure Policy controls to enforce governance standards and cost control protocols.
Description
We are seeking a highly motivated FinOps Engineer to lead the efficient and cost-effective management of our Azure-based cloud infrastructure. This strategic role involves continuous monitoring of cloud expenditure, implementing cost optimisation initiatives, and championing financial accountability across the organisation. Occasional travel to our offices in London or Derbyshire may be required, with a salary range of £55,000 - £65,000. We expect you to comply with relevant regulatory standards, including CQC, GDP, NMC, GPhC, and ICO, while maintaining an awareness of responsibilities related to Infection Prevention and Control. You may also be required to chair or attend relevant governance committees in line with your role remit.
