Requirements
Must:
- A team player with a collaborative mindset
- CCNA (R&S) level experience in troubleshooting and configuration of Cisco LAN/WAN components
- Demonstrable experience of configuring and troubleshooting Firewalls (preferably Cisco Firepower and Palo Alto) and WAN Routing Issues and LAN Switching Performance Issues
- Familiar with the CISCO TAC Process
- Experience in the management, configuration, and control of network management systems
- Familiar with formal change control concepts
- Full Drivers License
- Ability to support other teams at other sites throughout the UK when needed
- Beneficial to have experience on F5 Load Balancers and/or Cisco Catalyst DNA
Responsibilities
- Lead the local support for the network infrastructure within the assigned geographical area of responsibility
- Maintain network documentation associated with the site
- Assist the local multi-disciplined support team in wider system support activities
- Provide impact assessments to RFCs relating to obsolescence, patch and update, expansion, or in support of the delivery of new services
- Implement RFCs
- Provide recommendations for improvement through the formal RFC process
- Ensure a constant presence during working hours due to the classification of the system
