Requirements
Must:
We require a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or a relevant technical military background with equivalent hands-on experience. To succeed in this role, you should possess strong experience in C++ and Java software development, proficiency in software configuration management (SCM) and Jira for change and task tracking, and familiarity with unit testing and wider software testing practices. You must also demonstrate knowledge of software development lifecycle processes and documentation standards, as well as skilled risk management and problem-solving abilities for fast-paced projects. Additionally, we value strong communication skills, excellent teamwork, demonstrated leadership, positive attitudes, and effective project reporting and stakeholder engagement.
Responsibilities
As part of our team, you will develop, integrate, and maintain software for rapid deployment projects within the Defence domain. You'll collaborate closely with algorithm engineers to implement and optimise complex mathematical models. This role requires you to leverage your full software lifecycle experience, encompassing design, coding, testing, and integration. You will also contribute to unit testing and wider software testing to ensure the delivery of robust, high-quality systems while adhering to defined software development processes, best practices, and configuration management. Maintaining technical documentation, reporting, and risk management in alignment with project standards will be crucial, as well as supporting continuous improvement in build pipelines, CI/CD, and software delivery processes.
