Requirements
Must:
We are looking for a candidate with the following skills and experience:
- Previous experience in a Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment is ideal, but not essential.
- Experience with Azure and Microsoft 365.
- Strong technical experience with Microsoft Server operating systems and core applications, including Exchange and Domain Services.
- Proficient in supporting Microsoft Active Directory (AD), DNS, and Remote Desktop Services.
- Experience with network-related technologies and equipment.
- Skilled in diagnosing and resolving client application, connectivity, and hardware-related incidents.
- An understanding of virtualization technologies and concepts.
- Familiarity with backup and disaster recovery (DR) technologies.
- Excellent people skills.
- A valid driving license and access to transportation (note that this role is predominantly office-based).
- Willingness to complete Microsoft training, likely including one or more of the following: AZ-104, AZ-304, AZ-700, AZ-800, and AZ-801.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Acting as a technical escalation point for the IT service desk.
- Assisting with pre-sales technical support.
- Providing technical assistance via support tickets and emails.
- Answering phone inquiries as needed.
- Completing regular business activities such as vulnerability management, patching, and backend systems troubleshooting.
- Serving as the primary technical lead.
- Training other service desk members and assisting non-technical staff with support issues.
- Reporting directly to the Service Desk Manager.
Description
We are thrilled to offer this opportunity for a Senior IT Systems Engineer to support our clients' managed IT support base and to develop and drive forward new requirements. Please note that this position is not a project engineer role but rather focuses on providing support as a Senior Engineer on the service desk. The salary for this position ranges from £31,000 to £37,000, depending on experience. The working hours are Monday to Friday, from 9 AM to 5:30 PM, with a hybrid working model allowing for three days in the office. Additionally, we offer benefits such as free Microsoft training and certifications, ongoing professional development, 24 days of holiday plus bank holidays (increasing with experience), car parking, and a pension plan.
