Requirements
Must:
- A minimum of 2 years’ hands-on experience in a 1st line customer-facing role; 2nd line experience is an advantage.
- A valid driver’s license is required due to travel across multiple sites.
- 5 GCSEs, including Mathematics and English at grade C or above, or an equivalent professional IT qualification.
Technical Skills:
- Essential:
- Installation of IT hardware and software
- Microsoft Operating Systems (Windows 10 and above)
- Windows Server Experience (2012 R2 and above)
- Strong understanding of Active Directory, file permissions, DHCP, DNS, and Group Policy
- Excellent troubleshooting skills in hardware, software, and networking (routing, switching)
- Experience with Exchange, Office 365, and PowerShell
- Desirable:
- Capita sims.net (server & client side)
- Veeam Backup
- Experience with Apple products
- Familiarity with Ubiquiti products
- Knowledge of VOIP systems
- Microsoft Azure
- IP CCTV Systems and Door Access Control (Paxton)
Responsibilities
As a Roaming IT Technician, you will work closely with our 1st and 3rd line technicians to support various customer sites. Your duties will include:
- Travelling to customer locations to resolve their IT issues on a rota'd basis.
- Utilizing strong communication and problem-solving skills to deliver superior service.
- Installing and maintaining IT hardware and software, while ensuring systems are updated and secure.
- Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues in a timely manner to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Collaborating with team members and adhering to statutory regulations and policies.
- Undertaking ongoing training and professional development to stay current with technology and industry standards.
