Requirements
Must:
- Deep knowledge of HL7, FHIR, SNOMED CT, ICD-10, GS1 barcoding.
- Experience with NHS Interoperability Toolkit (ITK) and API frameworks.
- Proficiency in integration engines (e.g., Rhapsody, Mirth) and messaging standards.
- Minimum 8-10 years in healthcare IT with at least 5 years in interoperability-focused roles.
- Proven experience in NHS projects or similar healthcare environments.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex integration programs.
- Familiarity with NHS Technology Code of Practice (desirable).
- Knowledge of clinical safety standards (DCB0129, DCB0160) (desirable).
- Experience in cloud-based healthcare solutions and digital transformation programs (desirable).
Responsibilities
- Define and implement interoperability strategies aligned with NHS standards and policies.
- Ensure compliance with HL7, FHIR, SNOMED CT, ICD-10, and NHS Interoperability Toolkit (ITK).
- Design and oversee integration patterns for Electronic Patient Records (EPR) and other healthcare systems.
- Collaborate with technical teams to implement APIs and integration engines (e.g., Rhapsody, Mirth).
- Enforce GDPR, HIPAA, and NHS data security standards.
- Maintain data quality, integrity, and governance across systems.
- Work closely with NHS Trusts, clinicians, and IT teams to ensure interoperability objectives are met.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to integration developers and architects.
- Stay updated on emerging interoperability standards and technologies.
- Drive adoption of packaged business capabilities and technology-agnostic models.
