Must:
- Minimum Cisco CCNP certification level required
- CCIE certification is desirable
- Certified Wireless Networking Professional (CWNP) certification is highly desirable
- In-depth knowledge of Wireless LAN (Cisco WLAN, Cisco ISE, Aruba WLAN, Aruba Clearpass) and private 5G (e.g. Cradlepoint) solutions
- Proficiency in Wi-Fi survey tools (Ekahau), RF design, and deployment of enterprise-grade wireless solutions
- In-depth knowledge of SD-WAN solutions (CISCO Viptela)
- In-depth knowledge of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), carrier WAN and Internet offerings, cloud network services
- In-depth knowledge of Cisco LAN switching technologies including STP, RSTP, MSTP, VLANs, EtherChannel, and switch stacking; proficient in configuring and troubleshooting Layer 2 and Layer 3 switches, implementing QoS, and managing network segmentation and redundancy
- Ability to produce detailed designs, implementation plans, and operational support models
- Strong stakeholder engagement and coordination across multiple environments
- Ideally SC certified or has the ability to gain certification
Responsibilities
- Work on a programme aimed at modernizing and enhancing the UK network infrastructure to improve reliability, security, and user experience
- Replace end-of-life network hardware and deploy enhanced Wi-Fi solutions
- Provision high-speed internet connectivity services overlayed with CISCO SD-WAN technology
- Progress alternative connectivity options such as satellite and 5G solutions for disaster recovery and rapid deployment
- Support facility expansion projects
- Conduct comprehensive wireless surveys and design work, requiring ad-hoc travel to UK national grid sites
- Perform physical Wi-Fi surveys and desktop surveys using Ekahau tools
