Must:
We are looking for a high caliber, deeply experienced, hands-on DevOps Engineer with a strong foundation in modern engineering principles, toolsets, and practices. You must have deep technical expertise in the following areas:
- Proven experience with DevOps architecture and implementation.
- In-depth understanding of containers, particularly with tools like Docker, Kubernetes, or Rancher.
- Working experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) cloud infrastructure and services.
- Proficiency in infrastructure-as-code tools, specifically Terraform.
- Familiarity with GKE, Helm, and Harness.
- Experience with Linux System Administration.
- Understanding of high availability, disaster recovery, monitoring, and logging at scale.
- Deep hands-on experience with Java, particularly with the Spring framework.
- Experience with scripting and basic programming capabilities is advantageous.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will be expected to:
- Utilize your expertise in continuous integration and continuous delivery/deployment, particularly with Jenkins.
- Practice testing as a foundational part of your work, employing techniques such as TDD, BDD, integration, and end-to-end testing.
- Tackle challenges associated with monolithic system estates by introducing APIs, microservices, and gateways.
- Perform and accept regular code reviews to ensure high-quality outputs.
- Communicate technical issues effectively to both specialists and laymen, empowering our clients to adapt to changing needs and improve their delivery processes.
- Demonstrate leadership through influencing stakeholders and mentoring engineers across the organization.
- Engage with multi-functional teams and contribute to aligning technology solutions with business needs.
Description
We are particularly interested in candidates who possess consulting experience, preferably with major IT consulting firms, and while not mandatory, certifications such as Docker (DCA) or Kubernetes (CKAD) would be a plus. You should be highly articulate, able to communicate effectively across diverse groups, including stakeholders, engineers, and business analysts. We value your initiative in identifying valuable work and executing delivery. A strong commercial awareness and a pragmatic approach to problem-solving are crucial. You should be a systems thinker, understand how large organizations operate, and be familiar with common pitfalls in large-scale operations. Direct experience with Agile methodologies, such as Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe, is essential. Additionally, hands-on experience with GHE, TFS, Urban Code Deploy (or equivalent deployment tools), and experience in migrating applications from on-prem VMs to Azure Virtual Services or equivalent platforms is greatly beneficial. We value excellent communication skills and the ability to manage client stakeholders independently.
