Must:
As the hiring company, we expect our successful candidate to have strong experience with Windows Server, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and virtualization platforms such as VMware, Hyper-V, and Citrix. A solid understanding of networking principles (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, VLANs, Wi-Fi topologies) is also essential. You should have a proven background in managing firewall technologies like Meraki, Sophos, Fortinet, or WatchGuard, and knowledge of cloud platforms, including Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud. Familiarity with backup, recovery, and endpoint security solutions is important, along with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Relevant certifications such as MCSA/MCSE, Microsoft Certified (Azure/M365), or equivalent experience are desirable. Lastly, a full, clean UK driving license is required for client travel.
Responsibilities
In the role of Senior Infrastructure Engineer, you will lead the support, maintenance, and enhancement of our clients' IT infrastructure. Your responsibilities will include designing, documenting, and implementing infrastructure and cloud solutions. You will act as a senior technical point of escalation for complex issues, mentor and support junior team members across 1st and 2nd line functions, and collaborate with internal teams, consultants, and third-party vendors to deliver seamless technology roadmaps. Additionally, you'll automate key processes to improve efficiency through scripting and tooling. Travel to client sites across the UK for project delivery, installations, and escalations may be required, including occasional overnight stays.
