Must:
- I require strong experience across the tech stack: TypeScript, React Native, React, Node, Postgres, and GCP/Firebase.
- I look for a full-stack mindset, comfortable working on mobile apps, web apps, backend, and SQL.
- You should have a proven ability to write efficient, production-ready code that is reliable, observable, and maintainable.
- You must be comfortable in a fast-paced release culture with multiple deployments per day.
- A product-focused approach is essential, along with the ability to empathize with users and guide feature development.
- I seek candidates with 5+ years of software engineering experience, ideally in a fast-moving startup or product-led environment.
- You should possess strong problem-solving skills, an ownership mentality, and the ability to work during GMT-friendly time zones.
- Experience with AI-powered software engineering tools and a passion for enhancing productivity are preferred.
- It’s a bonus if you can work from the London office three days per week.
Responsibilities
- I need you to lead end-to-end development and delivery of core features across mobile, backend, and internal tooling.
- You will shape the technical roadmap and collaborate with the founders to make high-impact architectural decisions.
- Owning the quality, reliability, and performance of applications in production will be your responsibility.
- I expect you to mentor engineers through code reviews and pairing, establishing strong engineering practices.
- You will drive AI-accelerated engineering productivity by utilizing modern tools for efficient delivery.
- Being hands-on is crucial—you will ship code daily, unblock the team, and take responsibility for critical systems.

We are a growing company based in London seeking an experienced Lead Software Engineer to take ownership of our technology stack and guide our engineering team through an exciting phase of growth. This is a hands-on leadership role that combines technical delivery with strategic oversight. As the Lead Software Engineer, you will act as a player-coach, delivering critical code while mentoring engineers, driving technical strategy, and ensuring our platform scales with rapid international growth. You will closely collaborate with our founders to translate business goals into a clear technical roadmap, focusing on high-quality execution. You will work on mobile apps, core customer apps built with TypeScript, React Native, and Expo, as well as backend services running on TypeScript, GCP/Firebase Cloud Functions, and Postgres. Our high-velocity release culture allows for multiple deployments each day to tens of thousands of users. We offer a competitive salary, an annual performance bonus of up to 15%, and the flexibility of fully remote or hybrid working.
