Requirements
Must:
- Proven experience in a technical leadership role
- Strong expertise in MongoDB (data modelling, indexing, aggregation, performance tuning)
- Proficiency in Node.js and the wider JavaScript/TypeScript ecosystem
- Familiarity with Express.js and/or Fastify
- Experience in RESTful API design
- Knowledge of AWS or similar cloud platforms
- Understanding of microservices architecture
- Experience with testing frameworks (Vitest, Jest, Mocha, etc.)
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Proficient with GitHub workflows
- Knowledge of observability tools (e.g., DataDog)
- Experience with Docker/Kubernetes
- Nice to have: Experience integrating AI/ML models
- Nice to have: Experience working with LLM APIs
- Nice to have: Experience in prompt engineering
- Nice to have: Familiarity with AI workflow tools (LangChain, Flowise)
- Nice to have: Experience building internal AI automation tools
Responsibilities
- Set the technical direction and lead architectural decision-making
- Mentor and support junior and senior engineers
- Conduct code reviews and uphold engineering best practices
- Build and maintain scalable backend services and RESTful APIs
- Design and optimize MongoDB database solutions
- Improve and maintain existing backend infrastructure
- Troubleshoot production issues and implement robust solutions
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver meaningful customer outcomes
- Participate in technical interviews and help grow the engineering team
- Drive improvements in processes, tooling, and development practices
