Requirements
Must:
- Experience in IT support, systems administration, or IT management.
- Strong understanding of hardware, software, and networking fundamentals.
- Ability to independently diagnose and resolve technical issues.

- Good communication skills, including the ability to support and train non-technical staff.
- Proactive mindset with the ability to manage a varied workload across multiple systems.
*Desirable:*
- Interest or experience in web development.
- Experience with computational or electronics hardware.
- Familiarity with CCTV, access-control systems, or digital security infrastructure.
- Knowledge of Linux, cloud platforms, or virtualization technologies.
- Previous experience in a start-up or fast-paced technical environment.
- Ability to produce and maintain technical IT documentation and policies.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain company software, hardware, and devices.
- Manage network servers, storage systems, and internal technology tools.
- Set up user accounts, provision workstations, and manage access controls.
- Monitor system performance and ensure uptime across all platforms.
- Troubleshoot IT issues, diagnose failures, and resolve outages promptly.
- Implement and maintain cybersecurity protocols, including firewalls, backups, and security policies.
- Upgrade systems with new releases, updates, and hardware improvements.
- Produce and maintain documentation, IT policies, and training materials.
- Train employees on company software tools (e.g., password managers, internal systems).
- Establish and maintain a documented IT security policy.
- Ensure CCTV and digital security infrastructure is properly configured and operational.
Description
We are a fast-growing AI company located near Cambridge and are seeking an IT Systems Administrator to maintain, upgrade, and support the organization’s software, hardware, and network infrastructure. This is a hands-on, business-critical role that ensures all IT systems operate smoothly, securely, and efficiently across the company. You will work closely with both technical and non-technical teams, taking ownership of day-to-day IT operations while helping to strengthen and scale our infrastructure as we continue to grow. Role Details: - Location: Near Cambridge - Working Pattern: Onsite, 5 days a week - Scope: Broad role supporting all company-wide IT infrastructure - Opportunity: Help shape and strengthen IT systems as we continue to scale.
