Requirements
Must:
We are looking for a candidate with 2 to 3+ years of experience in an MSP or multi-client IT support environment. You should have strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, Intune, and Azure AD, along with a solid understanding of Windows Server, Active Directory, and Group Policy. A good grasp of networking fundamentals such as VLANs, VPNs, DNS, DHCP, and firewalls is essential. Excellent communication and customer service skills are a must, along with a full UK driving licence and a willingness to travel as required. Desirable skills include experience with RMM and PSA tools, an understanding of Cyber Essentials and IT security best practices, and relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Microsoft 365 Fundamentals, or equivalent.
Responsibilities
As a 2nd Line Support Engineer, you will deliver 2nd line remote and on-site support for our client systems and users. You will act as an escalation point for the 1st Line team, resolving complex issues. Supporting infrastructure projects, migrations, and deployments will also be part of your role. You will troubleshoot across Microsoft 365, Azure AD, Windows Server, and networking, and you'll liaise with senior engineers and vendors when needed. Maintaining documentation and communicating clearly with clients is essential, and we encourage you to contribute to service and process improvements.
Description
We are a well-established Managed Service Provider (MSP) supporting a wide range of SME clients across the UK, delivering fully managed IT services, cloud infrastructure, and cybersecurity solutions with a strong focus on reliability, professionalism, and personal service. Due to continued growth, we are seeking a capable and confident 2nd Line Support Engineer to join our friendly, professional technical team, based in Altrincham with some flexibility for hybrid working. You'll be required to travel to client sites, including locations in London and the Lake District, and may occasionally need to support global client operations with international travel. If you are technically strong, calm, methodical, and dependable under pressure, as well as confident in direct client communication, we encourage you to apply. We offer optional on-call rota participation (with additional pay), ongoing training and certification support, and a clear progression path within our supportive team. If you are ready to take the next step in your career with a growing MSP known for its reliability and service, we would love to hear from you.
