Requirements
Must:
- Supporting virtual desktop environments
- VDI performance, access, stability
- User support within virtualised desktops
- Subject matter expertise and experience in VDI (essential)
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Windows O/S (Windows 10 & Windows 7), including build, configuration, and registry settings
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- SCCM experience including OS deployment, application deployment, fault finding, monitoring, and reporting (desired)
- Understanding of scripting technologies such as PowerShell, VB Scripting, and batch files (beneficial)
- Knowledge of disk encryption using BitLocker, NTFS permissions, and shared folder security (useful)
- Appreciation of the Microsoft Exchange environment, email client configuration, MS Outlook, instant messaging tools (Skype for Business)
Responsibilities
- Work in the End User Experience (EUE) department
- Support and maintain virtual desktop environments
- Ensure VDI performance, access, and stability
- Provide user support within virtualised desktops
- Collaborate with team members to improve desktop infrastructure
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to virtual desktops
- Monitor system performance and provide regular reports
Description
We are seeking a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure Engineer to join our team in Barrow, where you will work full-time, five days a week in the End User Experience department.
