Requirements
Must:
- Strong hands-on experience with Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, DAX, and Power Query
- Solid SQL skills and understanding of dimensional data modelling
- Experience delivering BI solutions within banking, financial services, or other regulated environments
- Strong stakeholder engagement and the ability to translate requirements into scalable BI solutions
- Comfortable working in an agile, multi-stakeholder environment
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and optimise Power BI datasets and semantic data models
- Develop intuitive, high-performance dashboards and reports
- Write and optimise DAX for KPIs, time intelligence, and complex business logic
- Perform data transformation using Power Query (M) and SQL
- Improve BI resilience including data quality, refresh reliability, performance, and access controls
- Document data lineage, business logic, and reporting solutions
- Collaborate with stakeholders, data engineers, and platform teams
- Support automation and AI-enabled BI capabilities where appropriate
Description
We are a leading global bank seeking a Contract Power BI Developer to join our central Data & Analytics function for a 6-month contract. This role is based in Bristol, Birmingham, or Manchester, requiring 2 days onsite per week. You will have the opportunity to work in an agile environment and contribute to critical business and regulatory reporting while enhancing BI governance and enabling AI-ready analytics across our organization.
