Requirements
Must:
To be appointed to the Network Support Technician role, you will need to have familiarity with various network technologies, including but not limited to:
- Local Area Networks (LAN)
- Wide Area Networks (WAN)
- Virtual Private Networks (VPN)
- Voice over IP (VoIP)
- Network Monitoring Tools
- Wireless Networking (Wi-Fi Standards)
- Software-Defined Networking (SDN)
- Network Security Technologies (firewalls, IDS/IPS)
- Network Switches
- Zscaler/ZPA & Zero Trust Support
- Firewalls
- Wireless LAN Controllers
- Wireless Access Points (WAP)
- Raritan's KVM Solutions
- DNA Appliances (Cisco DNA Centre, etc.)
You must also achieve Security Check (SC) clearance as this is a requirement for the role. To obtain SC clearance, you will need to have resided continuously in the United Kingdom for the last five years, among other criteria.
Responsibilities
In the Network Support Technician position, I will expect you to:
- Respond to requests for on-site support and assistance with network equipment and infrastructure.
- Perform equipment installations, configurations, and decommissions as directed.
- Assist with troubleshooting hardware and connectivity issues.
- Execute standard network tasks, such as cable management, patching, and rack management.
- Document actions taken and maintain accurate records of work performed.
- Collaborate with remote engineering teams to execute complex configurations and repairs.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of network equipment.
- Provide excellent customer service and maintain a professional demeanor while on-site.
- Follow safety protocols and best practices while working with network equipment.
Description
We are a leading consultancy seeking a Network Support Technician to start ASAP, with a salary range of £28,000 to £30,000. This position requires you to work on-site in London, five days a week. You will undergo a series of pre-employment checks, including verification of identity, nationality (single or dual) or immigration status, employment history for the past three continuous years, and an unspent criminal record check (known as Disclosure and Barring Service). Throughout the recruitment process, I will ask you questions about your security clearance eligibility, including aspects such as your country of residence and nationality. Please note that some positions may be restricted to sole UK Nationals for security reasons.
