Requirements
Must:
- Extensive knowledge and expertise in business intelligence, databases, and technical aspects of BI tools
- Experience in data preparation, data gateway, and data warehousing projects
- Familiarity with the Microsoft Business Intelligence Stack (Power BI, SSAS, SSRS, and SSIS)
- Experience with self-service tools such as Power BI or Tableau
- Understanding of SQL and ability to produce reports with direct backend data feeds
- Strong skills in querying and reporting on datasets using modern tools such as R or Python
- Substantial experience working in data and analysis within a local authority or housing organization
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to produce interactive and user-friendly dashboards and reports
Responsibilities
- Analyze data in the service to provide management insight and aid in financial control
- Assist with accurate budgetary forecasting and analysis of temporary accommodation cohorts
- Investigate data quality issues and identify ways to cleanse and resolve them
- Design, develop, test, and debug SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) against BI Power reports
- Provide technical support to interpret business and service needs for improved reporting
- Serve as the housing business expert in discussions regarding Big Data
- Deliver optimal, innovative, scalable, and high-performing Business Intelligence solutions
- Work with business and IT partners to improve data and deliver informative visual solutions
- Educate business users on data accuracy and alignment with business targets
- Lead solution delivery for Business Intelligence and data visualization initiatives
- Collaborate with functional and technical teams to gather and refine business requirements
- Build using SQL and progress databases for Power BI reports
- Transform raw data into meaningful insights
- Perform a wide range of tasks, including reporting, building dashboards, and administering Power BI tools
Description
We are excited to offer a temporary opportunity for a Data Analyst in the homelessness department of one of our leading Local Government clients. This full-time role (36 hours/week, Monday to Friday) will involve a hybrid working model, with 1-2 days per week in our West London office. You will have the chance to make a significant impact within the department by helping to improve outcomes for residents while working alongside a collaborative team.
