Requirements

Must:
We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience: - Experience with RHEL 5, 6, 7 & 8 - Understanding of LVM - SE Linux configuration - Proficiency in Redhat Satellite and patch management - Experience with Ansible automation - Knowledge of Solaris 9 & 10 or relevant Unix systems - Familiarity with Solaris LDOM - Understanding of Veritas Volume Management - Experience with GIT or SVN version control - Cloud platform experience with MS Azure or AWS - Competency in troubleshooting, diagnostics, and event log management - Experience with Solarwinds configuration and management - Knowledge of virtualization technologies (VMware vSphere, ESX, and ESXi) - Familiarity with endpoint protection, DLP, and GDPR (Symantec preferred) - Scripting experience with Bash, Perl, or Python - Understanding of network fundamentals (Firewall, DNS, DHCP, etc.)

Responsibilities

As an IT Senior Linux Engineer, my responsibilities include: - Providing 2nd and 3rd line support for all associated infrastructure issues, available 24x7 on call - Leading the resolution of service issues within my technical capabilities - Taking ownership of service advancements related to my technical expertise - Collaborating with the Strategy and Architecture team to understand technical direction and ensure alignment in support and maintenance - Assisting in the development and maintenance of relevant IT policies and standards in line with best practices - Staying up-to-date with the latest technologies, standards, policies, and directives - Liaising with internal governance and external authorities to ensure compliance - Producing and maintaining operations manuals/run books for the services I manage - Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement to reduce operational risks and optimize efficiency - Ensuring product roadmaps and remediation plans are in place to address operational risks

In this role, I will be a key contributor to software transition and transformation programs and will define and implement IT quality assurance practices and procedures. I will ensure that appropriate IT technology standards, methodologies, and processes are in place, and I will actively participate in technical and operational governance forums. I have a strong ability to work effectively in a transitional multi-supplier environment and contribute to technical solution design and development. I also have experience ensuring infrastructure conforms to architectural principles and can effectively manage stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with a proactive team-oriented approach, are essential for success in this fast-paced environment. Please note that this role is Inside IR35.
