Requirements
Must:
- I am seeking candidates with extensive experience as a Lead Solution Architect, Principal Architect, or in a similar senior architecture leadership role.
- You must have a proven track record of driving architectural transformation, ideally transitioning from stack- or project-centric models to product- and outcome-driven architectures.
- A deep expertise in enterprise integration and hybrid architecture is essential.
- I require a strong understanding of modern architectural paradigms, including domain-driven design, event-driven architecture, microservices, and API-first methodologies.
- Experience in shaping and scaling architectures on both Azure and AWS is a must.
- Exceptional communication and influencing skills with C-level executives, business stakeholders, and engineering teams are necessary.
- Candidates should possess strong leadership experience guiding teams through large-scale technical and organizational change.
- Exposure to platform engineering, DevOps, or data architecture is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- As the Lead Azure Solution Architect, I need you to define and drive the enterprise-wide architecture strategy supporting the transition from stack-centric IT to product-led, outcome-focused delivery.
- You will establish an architectural vision aligned with commercial objectives, customer experience goals, and operational scalability.
- I expect you to design and govern integration patterns between modern cloud platforms and distributed retail/wholesale sites.
- You will champion the modernization of legacy environments, enabling core enterprise capabilities (pricing, inventory, fulfilment) to be consumed via APIs and event-driven interfaces.
- Acting as a trusted advisor to senior technology and business leaders, you will shape product strategy through architecture.
- It is important for you to define and embed architecture principles, standards, and guardrails to support autonomous product teams.
- You will lead initiatives to transition delivery teams to product-aligned operating models, creating scalable architectural patterns and platforms that accelerate delivery.
- I require you to ensure that non-functional requirements—including security, observability, resilience, and performance—are embedded in product and platform design.
- You will oversee architectural governance in a way that enables delivery rather than constrains it.
- Mentoring and coaching solution architects and senior engineers to raise the overall architectural maturity is also a key responsibility.
- I expect you to play a leading role in architecture forums, communities of practice, and design reviews.
Description
This is a strategic and highly influential role, where you will drive a pivotal transformation in our technology organization. In this position, you will define the architectural vision, enable product teams, and bridge modern cloud-native platforms with core enterprise systems. This opportunity is based in London and will require you to be on-site five days a week. The offered salary is between £85,000 - £90,000 per annum for a permanent position.
