Requirements
Must:
- I am looking for a candidate who has demonstrable experience in a cybersecurity or IT security role, ideally with at least one year in a hands-on capacity.
- A strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and technologies is essential.
- I require hands-on experience with security tools such as antivirus, content filtering, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Azure and associated cloud security services is a must.
- Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems is expected.
- Experience with log management and security monitoring platforms is necessary.
- I value critical thinking and problem-solving skills in complex technical environments.
- Knowledge of ITIL practices and security compliance standards is advantageous.
- Access to own transport is required.
- I also need the candidate to be willing to undergo background checks as part of the recruitment process.
Responsibilities
- You will operate and maintain security systems, including firewalls, antivirus, intrusion detection/prevention, and authentication platforms.
- It will be your responsibility to monitor system logs and network traffic to identify suspicious activity and potential threats.
- You will respond to security incidents and support forensic investigations.
- Additionally, you'll develop and maintain security protocols, policies, and procedures.
- Conducting vulnerability assessments and recommending mitigation strategies will be part of your role.
- You will deliver cybersecurity awareness training and guidance to staff.
- Maintaining the information security risk register and supporting audit processes will be required.
- Collaborating with IT and operational teams to ensure secure system configurations will be essential.
- You will assist in compliance with frameworks such as the Data Security Protection Toolkit.
- Finally, contributing to the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) will also be among your duties.
