Requirements

Must:
We are looking for someone with strong experience architecting and managing AWS environments, including EC2, EKS, RDS, VPC, and IAM. You should have hands-on expertise with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (like Terraform) and be able to integrate them into CI/CD workflows. A solid understanding of Kubernetes operations on AWS, particularly EKS, is essential, including cluster scaling and deployment automation. Proficiency in Linux administration, networking fundamentals, and cloud security principles is required. Familiarity with observability stacks such as Prometheus, Grafana, and Loki, along with structured alerting practices, is also important. Knowledge of database operations, including migrations, high availability, backups, and disaster recovery strategies, is a plus. Skilled automation and scripting experience using Terraform, Python, or Bash are necessary, and excellent communication and collaboration skills are critical in driving efficiency and reliability through automation. Ideally, you will hold a 2:1 or higher degree in a technical discipline.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will architect and maintain robust cloud environments on AWS, utilizing services such as EC2, EKS, RDS/Aurora, ElastiCache, OpenSearch, and CloudFront. You’ll lead the rollout and optimization of Kubernetes on EKS, ensuring reliable deployments and efficient scaling across workloads. You will design automated infrastructure solutions using Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform, seamlessly integrating them into CI/CD pipelines. Additionally, you’ll introduce and refine deployment strategies that minimize downtime, such as blue/green, rolling, and canary approaches. Strengthening platform resilience by improving autoscaling, ensuring high availability, and eliminating single points of failure will be part of your responsibilities. You will work closely with SRE and Security teams to enhance monitoring and observability through tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and CloudWatch. Embedding security best practices at every layer of the platform, covering IAM, secrets management, WAF, and compliance, will be essential. Moreover, you will drive cost efficiency and performance improvements through proactive automation and resource optimization, and contribute to operational excellence by participating in on-call rotations and post-incident reviews.
