Requirements
Must:
We are looking for individuals who have previously worked in roles such as Senior Data Engineer, Data Engineer, Data Platform Engineer, Data Architect, Data Infrastructure Engineer, Cloud Data Engineer, DataOps Engineer, Data Pipeline Engineer, or DevOps Engineer. You should have proven experience with Azure cloud platforms and a strong understanding of related architecture. Highly skilled proficiency in Python for data engineering, scripting, and automation is essential. You need to possess a strong working knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud-native data ecosystems, along with demonstrable experience with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform and Ansible. Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL and familiarity with lakehouse technologies (e.g., Apache Parquet, Delta Tables) is required. Exposure to Spark, Databricks, and data lake/lakehouse environments, as well as an understanding of Agile development methods, CI/CD pipelines, GitHub, and automated testing, is necessary. Additionally, practical experience in monitoring live services using tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, or New Relic is important.

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing cloud-based data architectures using Azure services. You will build robust and scalable data pipelines to support complex, high-volume processing and deploy and manage containerized workloads through Kubernetes, Helm, and Docker. Your role will involve automating infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform and Ansible, ensuring system reliability through observability, monitoring, and proactive issue resolution. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to align data solutions with wider business needs and support the continuous improvement of processes, deployment, and data quality standards.

The position is offered as a 6-12 month contract with hybrid and remote working options, providing a competitive salary between £500 and £650 per day (Inside IR35) along with additional benefits.
