Requirements
Must:
We are looking for a Data Engineer with several years of experience supporting Software Engineering, Data Engineering, or Data Analytics projects. You should possess expertise in designing and implementing tailored data solutions that cater to customer needs and use cases, spanning from streaming to data lakes, analytics, and beyond within a dynamically evolving technical stack.
Additionally, you need to have experience in data development and solutions in highly complex data environments that handle large data volumes. Proficiency in SQL/PLSQL is essential, as you will be expected to write both ad-hoc and complex queries for data analysis. Experience with Databricks is a must. You should also have a strong background in developing data pipelines and data warehousing solutions using Python and libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, and PySpark.
We require you to be able to develop solutions in a hybrid data environment, incorporating both on-premises and cloud technologies. Strong collaboration skills across diverse technical stacks, including Cloudera, Databricks, Snowflake, Azure, and AWS, are essential. Moreover, hands-on experience in developing data pipelines for structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data is necessary, along with experience integrating with supporting stores like RDBMS, NoSQL databases, Document databases, and log files.
Responsibilities
As a Data Engineer, your primary responsibilities will include designing and implementing data solutions that meet customer needs and addressing various use cases. You will develop and optimize data pipelines that handle large volumes of data, ensuring data accuracy and accessibility. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate and manage data across different platforms, ensuring effective deployment and execution of data solutions.
Moreover, you will leverage your SQL and Python expertise to perform in-depth data analyses and contribute to the improvement of our data architecture. You will also be tasked with maintaining documentation and providing insights that could lead to enhanced performance in our data environments.
Description
This position is located in Glasgow, where you will work three days a week in the office and remotely for two days. Please note that the role falls inside IR35, so you will need to work through an umbrella company.
