Requirements
Must:
- Advanced technical knowledge enabling good design decisions
- Experience of documenting technical expertise of designs and specifications across an entire infrastructure
- Enthusiastic approach to change and continuous improvement
- Ability to influence others and work in a consultative manner
- Detailed understanding of infrastructure, application, and data concepts
- Experience with project methodologies such as Prince2
- Advanced server configuration design and implementation
- Citrix experience
- Automated creation and distribution of applications and operating systems
- Knowledge of networking technologies and topologies
- Understanding of remote access solutions (e.g., Citrix, RDS, VPN)
- Familiarity with storage technologies and messaging services
- Application of security controls and procedures in complex multi-site enterprise
- Experience with service integration (SaaS and cloud integration)
- ITIL foundation qualified (or above)
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to form relationships with both technical and non-technical personnel
- Ability to adapt, prioritize, and work under pressure
- Wide knowledge of business applications and underlying technologies
- Ability to gather and assimilate information
Responsibilities
- Provide detailed technical architect expertise to support the delivery of projects
- Define and develop plans for existing infrastructure, applications, and architecture
- Advise the business on technology decisions and their impacts
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with key stakeholders in IT
- Liaise with external specialists to ensure strategic and technical outcomes are met
- Design new technology solutions based on requirements
- Collaborate with BA, infrastructure, and PM teams to implement designs
- Create solution options and architectures that align with firm standards
- Perform design authority role on projects, managing and resolving design issues
- Work with 3rd line technical teams to resolve technical design issues quickly
- Stay updated with developments in new technology within the industry
- Ensure the architecture framework is well documented and understood
- Support IT and business resources to drive projects to completion
