Requirements

Must:
- Experience in a similar role within a large finance services or insurance company. - Technical accounting skills, including knowledge of IFRS. - Advanced knowledge of MS Excel, with previous use of Anaplan preferred. - Ability to offer meaningful insights on reporting. - Outstanding attention to detail. - Stakeholder management skills. - Ideally, knowledge of payroll and national insurance. - Studying towards an accounting qualification (e.g., CIMA, ACCA, or ACA) or a strong work history in an accounting environment. - Eligibility and authorization to work in the United Kingdom.

Responsibilities

- Support the Expense Analyst Team Manager in delivering transactional expense management, including month-end close, key balance sheet actions, and profit and loss controls. - Create monthly reporting against budgets and forecasts. - Process month-end journals, including accruals and prepayments. - Ensure cost centre managers understand budget and forecast input timelines in Anaplan and make necessary administrative changes. - Collaborate with the Expense Partner to review budgets and forecasts, providing ad-hoc analysis and insightful commentary. - Optimize processes through cross-training, documentation, testing, and feedback. - Build effective working relationships with colleagues, including offshore teams. - Offer commercially focused technical guidance to the Expense Business Partner to optimize accounting treatments. - Provide data, reconciliations, and analysis to external auditors.
