Requirements
Must:
- NVQ in ICT or equivalent qualification, or relevant technical experience
- Previous experience in an IT support or helpdesk environment
- Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft 365
- Experience with Active Directory, networking and infrastructure support
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to support a wide user base
- Ability to prioritise workload and work under pressure
- Understanding of data security and confidentiality requirements
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Full driving licence and access to transport
- Experience in 2nd line ICT support (desirable)
- Knowledge of virtualisation technologies such as Hyper-V or vSphere (desirable)
- Familiarity with backup, firewall and web filtering solutions (desirable)
- Experience supporting mobile devices (Apple and Android) (desirable)
- ITIL knowledge or certification (desirable)
- Experience working within an education environment (desirable)
Responsibilities
- Deliver helpdesk and 2nd line IT support to staff and students
- Support networks, servers, systems and cloud-based services
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software and network faults
- Maintain Active Directory, Group Policy and endpoint protection
- Contribute to ICT upgrades, installations and system improvements
- Maintain data security, backups, filtering and safeguarding systems
- Prepare and configure ICT resources and classroom technology
- Identify system issues and recommend improvements
- Develop and update procedures, processes and training materials
- Provide guidance and training to staff and students where required
Description
We are a dynamic educational organization looking for an IT Support Engineer / ICT Technician to support our high-quality ICT service across multiple school sites in Coventry, Warwickshire, and Leicestershire. This full-time, permanent role offers a competitive salary of £26,243 to £29,838 per annum, along with extensive benefits including professional development opportunities, a career pathway, and flexible working arrangements. You will join a dedicated team, working closely with the Network Manager, to ensure our ICT infrastructure is reliable, secure and efficient.
