Requirements
Must:
- You must have ACTIVE SC Clearance and be a Sole British National.
- Experience with C or C++ (at least one of these is essential), Ada, and/or JavaScript, along with shell scripting languages and a solid background in software engineering.
- Experience configuring and maintaining Linux Operating Systems (Redhat and/or Ubuntu), including Kernel configuration and testing.
- A passion for software engineering, with the ability to innovate and think critically to understand and solve complex software problems.
- Excellent communication skills are necessary to convey technical matters to non-technical stakeholders.
- Comfortable working collaboratively within a team to address and resolve issues.
Responsibilities
- As a Software Product Support Engineer, you will support our in-service missile-system middleware solutions and collaborate with a small team to investigate and resolve issues as they arise.
- You will engage in debugging and technical investigations, requiring an inquisitive nature to address complex software challenges and discuss solutions with our customers.
- Our products require configuration, support, and maintenance of security solutions in a Linux Operating System environment, so your experience with Linux is essential.
- You will work across multiple applications on land and maritime projects, becoming involved with some of the most sophisticated missile systems across various warfare domains.
Description
This role is offered on an initial 6-month contract basis, requiring a minimum of 4 days per week on-site in Bristol. The position is compensated at £68 per hour (Inside IR35).
