Data Migration Engineer

- Design, develop, and execute data migration extract routines to support ERP data migration into Oracle Cloud - Ensure data is extracted and transferred accurately, securely, and efficiently, maintaining data integrity and quality - Analyse source systems, data models, and data structures - Profile source data to identify data quality issues, gaps, and anomalies - Collaborate with business and technical teams to understand data usage, dependencies, and criticality - Design the data migration approach for extracts and transfer procedures - Develop ETL/ELT processes and scripts to support data migration activities - Implement reconciliation, validation, and error-handling mechanisms - Define data transformation rules and ensure traceability of changes - Execute data migrations across development, test, and production environments - Coordinate with DBAs to ensure appropriate backups are in place to support extract routines - Perform multiple iterative cycles including unit testing, mock runs, and cutover rehearsals - Support go-live activities and post-migration stabilisation - Execute data extracts, reconciliations, and completeness checks - Investigate and resolve data defects and discrepancies - Ensure migrated data meets defined business and functional requirements - Produce and maintain comprehensive migration documentation - Maintain an audit trail of data transformations performed - Ensure migration processes are controlled, repeatable, and compliant with internal governance standards
