Must:
- Strong software engineering background with experience shipping production systems
- Hands-on experience with LLMs and modern AI application patterns
- Experience building APIs, backend services, and data workflows
- Strong Python skills; experience with TypeScript or JavaScript is also useful
- Experience with vector search, RAG pipelines, orchestration frameworks, and structured tool calling
- Understanding of prompt engineering, evaluation methods, and model failure modes
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and deployment environments
- Ability to work with ambiguity and move from prototype to production fast
- Good product judgement and a strong bias toward practical outcomes over technical theatre
Nice to have:
- Experience with voice AI, telephony, or conversational systems
- Experience integrating platforms such as Xero, QuickBooks, HubSpot, Stripe, Google Workspace, or Microsoft 365
- Familiarity with data protection, audit logging, and AI governance requirements
- Experience in startups or fast-moving product teams
- Exposure to SME operations, vertical SaaS, or workflow automation

Responsibilities
- Build AI-powered product features for messaging, summarisation, lead qualification, scheduling, follow-up, and workflow automation
- Design and improve LLM pipelines, agent workflows, prompt systems, and tool-use patterns
- Develop retrieval-augmented systems using customer data, business knowledge, and operational records
- Integrate AI services into real products across email, chat, telephony, CRM, billing, and scheduling platforms
- Improve reliability, latency, observability, and cost efficiency of production AI systems
- Build guardrails for accuracy, privacy, compliance, and safe automation
- Create evaluation frameworks for model quality, workflow performance, and business outcomes
- Work closely with product, design, and commercial teams to identify high-value use cases and ship quickly
- Help shape the technical architecture, engineering standards, and AI roadmap of the company
