Requirements
Must:
- Strong experience with Microsoft 365 Business Premium environments
- Proven experience in Microsoft cloud infrastructure
- Familiarity with identity and access management
- Background in endpoint management and device security
- Technical experience with Microsoft Intune
- Proficiency in Microsoft Entra ID
- Knowledge of Microsoft Defender
- Experience with Microsoft Purview
- Understanding of Windows device management
- Expertise in endpoint security
- Experience with cybersecurity best practices is advantageous
- Familiarity with data protection and privacy controls is a plus
- Experience implementing security policies in Microsoft 365 environments is a plus
- Previous work supporting organisations handling sensitive data is desirable
Responsibilities
- Design and implement a secure Microsoft 365-based infrastructure
- Upgrade and configure the Microsoft 365 environment
- Manage the migration from Microsoft 365 Business Standard to Microsoft 365 Business Premium
- Configure identity and access management
- Implement secure authentication policies, including Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
- Establish Conditional Access policies and role-based access control
- Design and deploy centralized device management using Microsoft Intune
- Conduct device enrolment and management
- Develop security compliance policies and configuration profiles
- Oversee software deployment and patch management
- Upgrade existing devices from Windows 11 Home to Windows 11 Pro
- Configure devices for centralized management and enable security features
- Implement endpoint protection using Microsoft Defender for Business
- Monitor and manage endpoint threat protection and security alerts
- Develop data protection controls using Microsoft Purview
- Implement data Loss Prevention and classification policies
- Create documentation for system architecture and security configuration
- Provide user onboarding and device provisioning procedures
Description
We are seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure and Security Engineer on a freelance or contract basis to assist with upgrading and modernising our IT environment. The project involves implementing a secure Microsoft cloud-based infrastructure with centralized device management and strong cybersecurity controls. The role offers a pay range of £200.00-£350.00 per day and allows for hybrid remote work in Preston, PR2 9YW.
