Requirements
Must:
We are looking for someone with proficiency in Python, Java, or both. You should have experience with cloud-hosted software and REST APIs, as well as familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and containerization. Strong skills in data/metadata transformation using JSON and XML are essential. Agile development experience and strong collaboration skills are also required. Ideally, you will have 2-5 years of software development experience in a commercial or research setting and a degree-level education.
Desirable skills include knowledge of digital preservation standards (e.g., OAIS, METS, PREMIS, OCFL), experience in Research Data Management and FAIR principles, and an understanding of Trusted Digital Repositories.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will design and implement SaaS solutions for digital preservation. You will develop and integrate software services into a large-scale research infrastructure, implementing support for project-specific specifications, protocols, and data transformation. Additionally, you will contribute to a registry of digital preservation tools and services, collaborate with stakeholders to validate and refine solutions, and advance standards and protocols for long-term digital preservation.
