Requirements

Must:
We expect candidates to have 1st or 2nd line support experience in a Windows environment. Strong customer service, problem-solving, and organizational skills are essential. You should have a proven ability to work under pressure while meeting SLAs, along with excellent communication and documentation skills. Additionally, we prefer familiarity with change management processes and Windows Server administration, as well as proficiency with tools such as Remote Desktop, Registry Editor, PowerShell, Active Directory, and Microsoft Office. Experience in improving systems or processes, as well as knowledge of automation tools such as PDQ, SCCM, Intune, and scripting, would be considered advantageous.

Responsibilities

In this role, I will provide you with an opportunity to deliver 2nd line ICT technical support across our organization professionally and in line with SLAs, ensuring strong customer service standards are maintained. You will implement and test system upgrades, changes, and releases within the change control framework. I will require you to manage escalated tickets through to resolution, keeping stakeholders informed throughout the process. Moreover, you'll be responsible for securely and consistently deploying approved hardware and software, supporting and maintaining key applications, and assisting in incident/problem resolution per ITIL® processes. Sharing technical knowledge, maintaining documentation, and creating Knowledge Articles for the Service Desk will also be part of your responsibilities. You'll collaborate with third parties and internal teams to achieve timely issue resolution and maintain accurate asset and configuration data. Participation in release testing, scheduling, and communication will be necessary. Additionally, you will need to provide flexible support during core hours and contribute to on-call or shift rotas as required.

Description


This position involves meeting Local Force Management Vetting (MV) and possibly 'Security Check' (SC) levels. You may be required to work across Gloucestershire sites, with a standard commitment of 37 hours per week (pro-rata). This may include shifts, weekends, or on-call cover, and some travel between sites will be necessary; therefore, a valid driving license is preferred.
